The firm's products include lactic acid derivatives, emulsifiers, functional enzyme blends, minerals and vitamins, among others. The company operates through two business lines: Ingredient Solutions, divided into business segments Food and Biochemicals, as well as Innovation Platforms. The Food segment develops preservation ingredients and microbial spoilage prevention products for the baking, meat, dairy, confectionery and beverage industries, and the Biochemicals segment produces bio-based chemicals derived from renewable resources such as sugar or starch. The Innovation Platforms segment creates new biotechnology business platforms, such as the poly lactic acid (PLA) bioplastic or its algae ingredients business. The firm operates production sites in the United States, Brazil, Spain, the Netherlands and Thailand, and markets its products through a global network of retail offices.
