Akanda Corp. is a medical cannabis and wellness platform company. The Company operates through three segments: cultivation, distribution, and corporate. The cultivation segment is focused on the cultivation of medical cannabis and medical cannabis biomass respectively. The distribution segment undertakes the sale and distribution of medical cannabis products. Its portfolio includes Holigen, a Portugal-based cultivator, manufacturer, and distributor, and CanMart, a United Kingdom-based fully licensed pharmaceutical importer and distributor, which supplies pharmacies and clinics within the United Kingdom. Holigen consists of a 20,000 square foot indoor facility located near Lisbon (in Sintra) dedicated to the cultivation of high-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) cannabis. The Company’s seed-to-patient supply chain includes Cansativa Group, an importer and distributor of medical cannabis in Europe, and Cellen Life Sciences Leva Clinic, which is a fully digital pain clinic in the United Kingdom.
