Reliance Power Ltd. develops, constructs and operates power projects both in India and internationally. The company is headquartered in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra and currently employs 1,305 full-time employees. The company went IPO on 2008-11-02. The firm on its own and through its subsidiaries has a portfolio of power generation capacity, both in operation, as well as capacity under development. The company is involved in coal, gas, hydro, wind and solar-based energy projects. The portfolio of the Company also includes Ultra Mega Power Projects. The company has over 6000 megawatts (MW) of operational power generation assets. The projects under development include three coal-fired projects to be fueled by reserves from captive mines and supplies from India and elsewhere; one gas-fired projects; and twelve hydroelectric projects, six of them in Arunachal Pradesh, five in Himachal Pradesh and one in Uttarakhand. Its project portfolio also includes 3,960 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project. The company operates across multiple sectors, including telecommunications, financial services, media and entertainment, infrastructure and energy.
