Lubelski Wegiel BOGDANKA SA engages in the production and sale of coal. The company is engaged in the excavation of the hard coal used for the generation of electric and thermal energy as well as for cement production. The Company’s main customers are: power stations, cement plants, plants producing fertilizers and thermal power stations located in the East or Northern-East of Poland. The mine Bogdanka has been located in Central Coal District, which is situated in Lubelskie Coal Basin. The Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA's mine performs its mining operations within the mining area of a surface of 57 square kilometers. As of December 31, 2012, it operated one subsidiary, Leczynska Energetyka Sp. z o.o., and it held a 24.41% stake in Kolejowe Zaklady Maszyn KOLZAM SA. The main shareholder of the Company is Enea SA.
